Dr. David T. Turbyfill DMD formed an amateur bicycle racing team in 2005 in North West Florida. His team, the Cyclones, produced both professional cyclists through its’ developmental team, as well as fourteen State and Regional Championships in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Georgia. The Cyclones’ title sponsors in the past have included nationally recognized corporations such as Jeep and Subaru motor vehicles.

Dr. David “Ty” Turbyfill moved his oral surgery practice — Surgical Solutions Oral and Maxillofacial, and Implant Solutions Today to Central Florida, and with it his Cycling team. In addition to forming a new race team in conjunction with JC of JC’s Bicycle Shop in Deland, FL; David Turbyfill also created a new cycling club – The Blue Hammers. The first members rode as cyclones under Subaru’s sponsorship. The initial members included: Todd Morley, George Gregoratos, Dave Wilner, Josh Brown, Jan Verkleig, Ted Mayberry, James Lally and Rick Wolfe. This small group has increased in size to a club of over twenty five. Dr. David “Ty” Turbyfill stated,
“I have always loved the sport of cycling. I am very proud of my team’s past accomplishments. I am sure this winning tradition will continue here in central Florida through our new club and team. Our hope is this will introduce and encourage new athletes to participate and compete in this fantastic sport enjoyed and honored throughout the world.”
