Blue ‘Hammers’ Red Coats Ride

Celebrate your Independence Early this coming Sunday! Throw Tea bags into Lake Baldwin, drink your Coffee and come and join the Continental Blue Hammers as they ride with the remaining Red Coats before Independence Day a few days later when they will be shipped back to England clad in Irons.

The Hammers will meet at B3 Cafe at 645am and roll out East to Geneva before heading south to Fort Christmas and back to B3 for some drinks and celebrate their Independence. Looking for a great ride – look no further. In their bright Orange and Blue kits, the Hammers could easily be mistaken as Dutch, but this is not the case, we are very much AMERICAN and not answerable to the Crown.

Ride Details:
Roll B3 Cafe 645am
Distance: 80 miles
Pace: Average Pace 20-21 mph with some surges
Stops: 1 @ mile 65

Please check the following link to view/download the route. Please take the opportunity to download the route to your Garmin device rather than rely on the route leader. As is often the case, the route leader will be far from the front of the group and so if you already have the route in your Garmin then you can enjoy and not be reliant on someone else.

How to transfer the route to your device
Save the GPX or TCX file to your computer.
Plug the Edge 800/810/820/1000 in to your computer. Once connected, it is recognized as a USB drive.
Open the “Garmin” folder in that drive.
Find the folder labeled, “NewFiles”. Move your downloaded TCX or GPX file there.
Once the file has transferred, you can disconnect your Garmin.
Now turn on your Garmin 800/810/820/1000. The route should be available in Courses on the device.

This is an unsupported ride and is a ‘drop ride’ meaning that if you are dropped then it is your responsibility to get home. However we will of course stop for mechanicals if we are all together and assist each other.
