Hammers ‘Sunday’ Labor Day Ride

Labor Day is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, laws and well-being of the country. It is the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend and it is considered the unofficial end of summer in the United States.

The holiday is also a federal holiday and it is a perfect time to celebrate this weekend with the Blue Hammer Cycling Club. We roll at 7:30am from Winter Park Cycles – Orlando, FL and will roll past David’s World Cycle College Park out towards Apopka and beyond. This will be a 80 miles ride with on SAG stop at mile 45 and then we roll back to Orlando. With 80 miles of beautiful rolling countryside, 2600 feet of elevation and great people it is sure to be a day to remember! Route to follow, but basically we roll out via Ocoee Clarcona to Binion, Zellwood to Brit Road, Thrill Hill before turning back through Sorrento and Apopka before returning to Orlando.

Pace for this ride will be a paced average of 20 mph. If you wish to go faster or slower please download the route.

Pls download the above GPX file for your Garmin. There will be one route leader for this ride however typically people will not download the route then either get dropped or have a mechanical and then they don’t know how to get home.
